CRS&EF & Experts Forum - Singapour

Republic Polytechnic, Singapore,

Tuesday, 24thSeptember 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the Composite Repair Seminar & Experts Forum for MRO 2024 has been successfully organized by Republic Polytechnic (RP), Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE), GMI Aero, and Melchers at RP in Singapore, on September 24th 2024.

For the entire day, nearly 100 composite repair professionals from over 10 Asian and European countries attended high-level lectures delivered by scientists and experts from leading aeronautical organizations, R&D centers, and universities.

This gave attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and research findings from the academic community, while also gaining practical insights through real-world application examples and equipment demonstrations, including hands-on experience.

In addition to the physical participation of lecturers from Republic Polytechnic, SIAE, GMI, Standard Aero, SETSCO, and Emirates Airlines, remote presentations were also delivered. These included insights from the GENEX EU R&D project as well as a presentation on Quality Assurance for Bonded Aircraft Structures, introduced by colleagues from Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (Spain) and Fraunhofer IFAM (Germany), respectively.

The event concluded with a hands-on session featuring the Anita 4.0 innovative IoT bonding console and the LESLIE Machining Toolkit, held at RP's composite workshop.

Although the Composite Repair Seminar & Experts Forum (CRS&EF) was a monothematic event, it offered comprehensive global coverage of its subject. Throughout the seminar, experienced industry professionals and academic experts shared insights into recent R&D developments and critical issues in bonded composite repair. As a result, participants gained a thorough "process understanding" and learned about "innovative solutions" to ensure the reliable application of repairs, even on Class I (safety-critical) structures.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the contributors who made this exceptional event possible. We look forward to meeting again in the future, alongside other composite repair experts interested in technical innovation and scientific advancements, at upcoming events.

Best Regards,

The CRS&EF 2024 Organizing Committee
